Damian Ameen-Vice President
Damian’s many years of experience cover a broad area of the telecommunications industry including DAS, small cell, PCS/Cellular, microwave (standard and low latency), mobile data networks, telephone systems, fiber optics, interactive voice systems, ESMR, paging, and data networks. He has hands-on experience in the system design, property acquisition, construction, land use and zoning, operations, business development, marketing and management. Much of his experience is in the launching of new networks and companies.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s in Business Management from Rutgers University.
His work began in 1981 as Engineering support for Jubon Engineering, preparing FCC cellular applications for the top 50 markets. In 1983 he joined Motorola as a radio systems engineer and was trained in simulcast, SMR, paging networks, microwave, cellular and systems for the public safety market.
As systems engineer and later Director of Engineering for Ram Communications Consultants from 1987 to 1992, Damian provided engineering services for the company’s expansion and establishment of Honolulu Cellular (now AWS), RAM Paging Hawaii, and RAM Mobile Data (Cingular Interactive now ATT). The cellular infrastructure designed and built by his group, together with the coordination of marketing efforts and technological improvements established Honolulu Cellular as the market leader with a 65 percent market share within two years over the established wireline provider. This network continues to expand under the original plan developed by Damian over fifteen years ago. The company is now owned by AT&T Wireless.
Damian formed Ameen Communications Company (ACC) in 1992 to serve the engineering, business and operational needs of clients in the wireless telecommunications industry.
ACC is currently providing site development services to Verizon while their work includes both macro and mini cells the majority of work is focused in the mini cell area. ACC was designated as the company to work with public and private high schools to implement mini cells sites. This is a very complex and challenging environment where ACC has had the most success to date out of all current vendors.
